Her official debut is slated for February 2026

Summary

  • Rachel Scott has been appointed as Proenza Schouler’s creative director.
  • The Jamaican-American designer will make her first official presentation in February 2026.

Rachel Scott, the Jamaican-American designer behind Diotima, will now steer Proenza Schouler into its next chapter following the departure of founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who joined Loewe in March. While her formal debut is scheduled for February 2026, Scott has already contributed significantly to Proenza Schouler’s upcoming Spring 2026 collection, having worked as a consultant in the brand’s design studio over the past several months.

In a statement, Scott said, “I am thrilled to join Proenza Schouler, a brand at the heart of American fashion that I have long admired. I deeply respect the world and beauty Jack and Lazaro so masterfully created, and I look forward to bringing my vision in dialogue with their legacy. I am grateful to Shira for her trust and honored to step into this role to shape the next chapter of Proenza Schouler.”

Shira Suveyke Snyder, Proenza Schouler’s CEO, commented on Scott’s appointment: “Rachel is one of the most celebrated design talents of today. She brings a fresh, feminine perspective to a brand rooted in the spirit of the modern American woman. Her deep understanding of Proenza Schouler’s design codes, combined with her exceptional skill in blending craftsmanship with innovation, made her the natural choice to lead the house forward.”
