With the iPhone 17 Pro set to debut on September 9, 2025, rumors are already circulating about its accessories. One early highlight is the redesigned Clear Case, offering a fresh take on Apple’s usual transparent style.

Transparency takes a backseat in this new case, marking a departure from previous fully clear designs. Unlike the iPhone 16 Pro’s clear cases, the 17 Pro version conceals much of the phone’s glass back and MagSafe area with a white, semi-opaque surface. Only the corners and camera module remain fully visible, showcasing the phone’s original finish while partially hiding the back. The repositioned Apple logo, now lower on the device, is neatly embedded in the white portion, creating a minimalist and balanced look.
The Clear Case also reflects the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera upgrades. Leaked images show a large rectangular cutout spanning the case’s width, hinting at a horizontal camera bar. This likely accommodates larger sensors, a bigger telephoto lens, or enhanced video features from earlier leaks. The design protects the triple-lens system, LiDAR scanner, and flash, showing Apple’s focus on making the iPhone 17 Pro a capable tool for photography and videography.
MagSafe sees a subtle redesign. Rather than the traditional circular ring, a white rounded rectangle now surrounds the magnetic system, blending with the semi-opaque back. This change could improve accessory compatibility or charging efficiency. The case also accommodates the new Camera Control button, with a sapphire crystal layer and conductive coating for a smooth, tactile feel.
Another practical update is Crossbody Strap support. Dual cutouts at the bottom allow users to attach a strap or lanyard, making it easier to carry the iPhone 17 Pro across the body or wrist. Full access is maintained for the Action button, wireless charging, and ports, ensuring no functionality is lost.

Durability has been enhanced with an anti-yellowing layer on the transparent edges, addressing a common issue where clear cases become dingy over time. The thin silicone is lightweight and custom-molded for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, though it’s uncertain if the standard iPhone 17 or rumored iPhone 17 Air will receive the same treatment. Early samples show trade-offs: the smooth surface can attract dust, show minor scratches, and feel slightly slippery.
The Clear Case positions itself between Apple’s premium TechWoven cases and casual Liquid Silicone options. It offers a minimalist aesthetic without a high price, with just enough character to stand out. Rumors of tinted versions, possibly seasonal or limited editions, hint at subtle personalization options. Soft blue or muted red variants for the holidays could let users add personality while keeping the clean, translucent look. Though unconfirmed, such editions would add an appealing layer of customization.
